Is there a better way to start off the new year than another online Dreamcast game being resurrected? Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Worms World Party is online once again thanks to the amazing Mr. Karlsson! Efforts to try and get this game back online have been going on for a long time now. Just getting to the game lobby proved to be fairly simple but actually being able to start a game was something else entirely. Fortunately we have a genius in out midst in the form of Shuouma who managed to finally track down the final piece of the puzzle. The game is now fully playable online and it's awesome! I must once again give a huge thanks to Jonas for reviving yet another piece of online gaming history! Who knows what the rest of 2017 wi...

Rankings for The Next Tetris: Online Edition and Alien Front Online have been added to the site! A big shout-out and thank you to Shuouma for hosting the ranking data so that it could be embedded here. See how you stack up against the competition by selecting the game under the "Leaderboards" menu.

Have questions about getting your Dreamcast online? No problem! Check out the new FAQ page which will answer the most common questions about connecting your Dreamcast to the internet. I'll be updating this page with more questions and answers as I think of them but I think I've covered most of the basics. If you have any suggestions on what to add, feel free to let me know in the comments.

The Kickstarter campaign for Militia Studio's Dreamcast-exclusive first-person shooter, In the Line of Fire, has begun! I've been following this game from the very beginning of its development, being in awe of every new screenshot and video released. Unlike most indie Dreamcast titles which are 2D and released on multiple platforms, In the Line of Fire is a fully 3D first-person shooter that was built from the ground up to be a Dreamcast exclusive. This means it will be taking full advantage of the console's hardware; pushing it to its very limits. Judging by what's been shown so far, it could very well be up there with some of the best looking official releases on the system!

At the start of the single-player campaign you play as a SWAT of...

Kazade has released version 1.6 of his DreamPi software. The biggest addition to this release is the incorporation of software developed by Shuouma which will fix the GameSpy-based games (Starlancer, The Next Tetris, and PBA Bowling) for some users. This release will also fix some bugs for anyone using a serial modem or Wi-Fi. You can grab this new release from the Downloads section.

Here's complete list of changes:

  • GameSpy Fix - Incorporated software called dcgamespy by Shuouma which modifies SYN/PSH packets and removes the PSH flag blocked by certain ISPs.
  • Serial Modem Fix - Reduced the modem communication rate which may help with serial modem compatibility.
  • Wi-Fi Bug Fix - DreamPi now waits for an internet connection before doing anythin...

Dreamcast Live is now on Patreon! While Dreamcast Live will always remain a free website without any of those nasty advertisements, I wanted to create a Patreon not only to help with maintaining the site but also as a way that you can thank all of the people that have helped grow the Dreamcast online community. I plan to donate a good portion of the proceeds to awesome people such as Impulse and brourke228 of Dreamcast-Talk, Petter3k of DCSERV, Shuouma, and Kazade to help with maintaining servers as well as research and development of new servers.

Supporting Dreamcast Live on Patreon is of course completely voluntary but if you'd like to throw a tip in the "virtual tip jar", every dollar is much appreciated! Your donations will he...
