Shuouma has released the source code for all the servers he's coded to date; this includes the server software for Planet Ring, ChuChu Rocket!, PBA Tour Bowling 2001, Starlancer, The Next Tetris, and Maximum Pool (master server). This software has been released as open source under the MIT license and can be freely used, copied, modified, or distributed. This is a huge step in making sure all the games revived so far will be online for as long as the internet still exists. Long live Dreamcast!

All the source code can be found on the new Server Software page in addition to any other Dreamcast server software and/or source code that has been released to date.

The amount of games that can be played online on our precious Dreamcasts has increased significantly over the last few years. This is due in large part to a man known as Jonas Karlsson, better known as Shuouma around most parts of the internet. Some may call him a magician but I think that may be selling him short. Shuouma is responsible for reviving four online games in just the last year; these games include ChuChu Rocket!, The Next Tetris, PBA Tour Bowling 2001, and Worms World Party. Not only that but he played a huge part in helping Petter3k with Alien Front Online and released improved and more stable servers for Planet Ring and Starlancer. I think it's safe to say that Dreamcast fans owe this man a huge thanks!

So who is Jonas Karlss...

Something I've been wanting to do for a while now is track down all the Dreamcast's DLC and make it available all in one place. With the recent "release" of all the DLC for Floigan Bros., this made me all the more determined to make this dream a reality! Well, I've finally done it! While I don't yet have every bit of Dreamcast DLC ever released, I've managed to put together the internet's largest and most complete collection of Dreamcast DLC. Currently you can find DLC for 4x4 Evolution, ChuChu Rocket!, Crazy Taxi 2, Dynamite Cop, Floigan Bros., Phantasy Star Online, Metropolis Street Racer, Rayman 2, Samba de Amigo (incl. Ver. 2000), Skies of Arcadia, Sonic Adventure 1/2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and Zombie Revenge. I'll cont...

Kazade has given Dreamcast Now a complete makeover (designed by yours truly)! The new version features screenshot backgrounds that show the current / last game played, cover art for recently played games, and red/green highlighted avatars to indicate online status. In addition, the site now hides players that haven't been online in the last 60 days; this along with other tweaks has significantly decreased the website's load time. There are still some additional tweaks coming in the future including the return of player ranks and a total player count that includes inactive players.

If you have any feedback or suggestions, be sure to hit up @kazade on Twitter.

It's been 16 years since the game's release but for the first time ever, all 12-months of timed DLC for Visual Concept's Floigan Bros. has been released! For those of you unfamiliar with the DLC for Floigan Bros., they were monthly downloads called FMTs (Fun Moigle Things) that added things to the game like outfits for Moigle, goodies in the mailbox, and on one occasion (April) a brand new mini game. Previously only the January "Knitted Hat" DLC was archived online but thanks to help from the original developers and a little hackery, all the DLC has been found! As it turns out, the DLC was already contained on the disc and just needed to be unlocked. This was done back in the day via a save file that was downloaded to the VMU and ...

Having trouble getting your Dreamcast online? Can't connect or getting errors with a certain game? Check out the new Troubleshooting page! This new page covers many of the most common issues people have. The troubleshooting is targeted mostly towards DreamPi users but some of it applies to other connection methods as well. I'm sure I'll be adding more to it in the future but I think I've covered most of the basics. If you have any suggestions, feel free to leave them in the comment section below.

Sonic Adventure's Chao Daycare has been revived thanks to the efforts of Jial and Tyro of Dreamcast-Talk and Assembler Games who successfully reverse-engineered the feature over the last few months. The Chao Daycare allows players to share their digital pets with other players around the world. With this feature restored in addition to the website and World Rankings last year, many of Sonic Adventure's online components are now fully functional. If you wish to use any of the game's online features, simply set your Dreamcast's DNS to 46.101.91.123. No need to do this if you're using DreamPi as it will be automatic.

Here's how to upload a Chao:

1. Go the the Chao Transporter in the game's Chao Garden.

2. Highlight a VMU and press and hold Y+A...
