You know that custom DreamPi case I gave away exactly one month ago? Well I've decided to turn that into a monthly thing! While I won't be giving away a DreamPi case every month, I will be giving away something cool; whether that be a game, an accessory, a t-shirt, or a number of other possibilities. This month's "something" is a copy of Maximum Pool! Possibly the most underrated online Dreamcast game, Maximum Pool is a ton of fun! I mean, it has a mode with rocket-propelled balls! If that isn't a formula for awesomeness then I don't know what is!

If you'd like to enter for a chance to win this hidden gem of a game, simply leave a comment below and make sure you include a valid email address in the "Email Id" box. Just for fun, let me know what you think the most underrated game on the Dreamcast is. The winner will be chosen one week from today (July 17th).

Update: The winner has been chosen! Congratulations to Raymaniacs!

The most underatted dreamcast game has to be Rayman 2. I know it was a multi platform title but playing it through VGA on the Dreamcast just made it really stand out over the other versions. It's a beautifully colourful game and the Dreamcast is the only console that I feel ever gave its animation justice.

I'm partial to speed devils. Not sure if it's underrated but I never see it mentioned very much.

Max Pool - It's the only game I do not own the GD-ROM btw (other than the obvious PBA Tour Bowling 2001).

Underrated Dreamcast game: Max Pool would have been it, but you already named it so....4x4 Evo. You know all about the truck details and the various race tracks one can race on or create your own track. It is a real world map, so you do not hit "invisible walls" off-road like other games (I love visiting the old west town and picking up money there). It also operates really well on a dial-up modem and connects fine with a DreamPi.

Propeller arena, enough said. It also introduced me to Consumed, a quite underrated Uk based fast punk band

@Jial I think a lot of people might look at it and think it's just a no-frills pool simulator. Obviously if you're not into pool in the first place, it wouldn't appeal to you. The thing that makes Maximum Pool so great are the crazy game modes like Rocket Ball and Mad Bomber; even if you're not into pool, I think just about anyone can have fun with those modes. Maybe Sierra should have put some rocket balls in the cover art. :-)

I don´t understand why maximun pool is underated. There is not too much pool games and this one has an online mode, Maybe the reason is a poor marketing or only a limited people enjoy games like this one.

Max Pool! One of the online games that i tried to purchase and never got it!!!
Great game!!! So underrated due the light action, but is an awesome game. The tables, tricks with the ball, chat during gameplay...
Very recommended to see another masters like Tact or Hunter playing it. So so funny!!!! :-)

I actually didn't know about this game before you posted the video about it a couple days ago. As for my favorite underrated Dreamcast game, I haven't played a lot beyond the classics that everyone knows about but I really like NFL2k games. I'm a huge football nerd (in addition to video games) and NFL2k blows Madden out of the water.

@Sega1Dream Next Tetris is definitely a great version of the classic game. Obviously being on the Dreamcast automatically gives it extra points. Hehe.

@Joe Who's Tom? Assuming you're referring to me, thanks! :-P

I have never heard of Maximum Pool until I joined Dreamcast-Live. It has seemed to be a popular game that other Dreamcast-Live members enjoy. As for other unrated game, I would say Tetris Online. I have never been a big Tetris fan, but since buying it (due to Dreamcast-Live making it online) my wife and I have had a blast playing it.
