Shuouma has released the source code for all the servers he's coded to date; this includes the server software for Planet Ring, ChuChu Rocket!, PBA Tour Bowling 2001, Starlancer, The Next Tetris, and Maximum Pool (master server). This software has been released as open source under the MIT license and can be freely used, copied, modified, or distributed. This is a huge step in making sure all the games revived so far will be online for as long as the internet still exists. Long live Dreamcast!

All the source code can be found on the new Server Software page in addition to any other Dreamcast server software and/or source code that has been released to date.

The amount of games that can be played online on our precious Dreamcasts has increased significantly over the last few years. This is due in large part to a man known as Jonas Karlsson, better known as Shuouma around most parts of the internet. Some may call him a magician but I think that may be selling him short. Shuouma is responsible for reviving four online games in just the last year; these games include ChuChu Rocket!, The Next Tetris, PBA Tour Bowling 2001, and Worms World Party. Not only that but he played a huge part in helping Petter3k with Alien Front Online and released improved and more stable servers for Planet Ring and Starlancer. I think it's safe to say that Dreamcast fans owe this man a huge thanks!

So who is Jonas Karlss...

It's been almost three months since ChuChu Rocket! was brought back online and while the online mutliplayer has proved very popular, Puzzle Land has remained barren with the exception of a couple test puzzles. I aim to fix that with the latest Dreamcast Live contest! Show off your puzzle-creating chops by going up against other ChuChu Rocket! players in a battle to build the most creative and ingenious puzzle! The contest will run until September 27th, at which point I will put up a poll where you can vote for your favorite. The puzzle/player with the most votes will win a plaque in the Hall of Champions!

Exciting news for those of you that play Dreamcast online (which I assume is everyone that visits this site :-D). The very first online Dreamcast game, ChuChu Rocket!, is back online forever!  The official server for the game went offline in November of 2003 so it's been almost 13 years since anyone's played it online. Thanks to the efforts of Jonas Karlsson (the same guy behind the Dreamarena server which allows you to play Toy Racer via dial-up), the server software has been reverse engineered. Jonas is hosting his own server which anyone can connect to by simply setting your DNS server to 46.101.91.123. This is the default DNS server for DreamPi users, so if that's your connection method of choice, you don't have to change anything. When...
