The Kickstarter campaign for Militia Studio's Dreamcast-exclusive first-person shooter, In the Line of Fire, has begun! I've been following this game from the very beginning of its development, being in awe of every new screenshot and video released. Unlike most indie Dreamcast titles which are 2D and released on multiple platforms, In the Line of Fire is a fully 3D first-person shooter that was built from the ground up to be a Dreamcast exclusive. This means it will be taking full advantage of the console's hardware; pushing it to its very limits. Judging by what's been shown so far, it could very well be up there with some of the best looking official releases on the system!

The number of online Dreamcast games may soon increase by one thanks to an indie developer named Rico Tyrell. Rico is developing an online third-person shooter called [TERMINAL] (working title) which is currently in it's early stages. What's interesting is that the game is being developed using Sega's Katana SDK rather than BlueCrab's KallistiOS typically used for most independent Dreamcast titles. This is a first for a Dreamcast indie game since most developers won't touch Katana due to possible legal issues.
