Shuouma has released the source code for all the servers he's coded to date; this includes the server software for Planet Ring, ChuChu Rocket!, PBA Tour Bowling 2001, Starlancer, The Next Tetris, and Maximum Pool (master server). This software has been released as open source under the MIT license and can be freely used, copied, modified, or distributed. This is a huge step in making sure all the games revived so far will be online for as long as the internet still exists. Long live Dreamcast!

All the source code can be found on the new Server Software page in addition to any other Dreamcast server software and/or source code that has been released to date.

The amount of games that can be played online on our precious Dreamcasts has increased significantly over the last few years. This is due in large part to a man known as Jonas Karlsson, better known as Shuouma around most parts of the internet. Some may call him a magician but I think that may be selling him short. Shuouma is responsible for reviving four online games in just the last year; these games include ChuChu Rocket!, The Next Tetris, PBA Tour Bowling 2001, and Worms World Party. Not only that but he played a huge part in helping Petter3k with Alien Front Online and released improved and more stable servers for Planet Ring and Starlancer. I think it's safe to say that Dreamcast fans owe this man a huge thanks!

So who is Jonas Karlss...

Is there a better way to start off the new year than another online Dreamcast game being resurrected? Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Worms World Party is online once again thanks to the amazing Mr. Karlsson! Efforts to try and get this game back online have been going on for a long time now. Just getting to the game lobby proved to be fairly simple but actually being able to start a game was something else entirely. Fortunately we have a genius in out midst in the form of Shuouma who managed to finally track down the final piece of the puzzle. The game is now fully playable online and it's awesome! I must once again give a huge thanks to Jonas for reviving yet another piece of online gaming history! Who knows what the rest of 2017 wi...

You might say the Dreamcast online scene has gotten a big boost recently, not only thanks to Kazade and his amazing DreamPi software but also thanks to a man whose mission is to bring online Dreamcast games back to life. As many of you know, Petter Krossbakken, a.k.a. petter3k, is the guy behind the Toy Racer revival a couple years ago and is currently working on the revival of many other online Dreamcast games. The one right on the horizon being Alien Front Online. Petter has a website called DCSERV which is dedicated to the revival of these games and making sure they're never taken offline again. So what drives a man to dedicate much of his free time to this effort? What games can we expect to be back online in the near future? Will oth...
